lol

Can anybody feel an Andy vibe from The Office? Haha. 10 out of 10 based on the humor, but this would literally drive me the **** insane after hearing it repeat more than twice.

That means it's a good ring tone :-) if it makes you want to answer your phone quicker lol

When I get a tad better at guitar, I'd love to start doing death metal covers of Uematsu's work.

This isn't bad, but the synths are a bit of on overkill on the chords. Perhaps something less 'thick' in sound would've made it sound better. There are just too many saws at once, IMO.

I like it. It's got that classy, old-school feel. Perfect loop.

Well, I'm giving it a 10 out of 10 b/c I like your style. This is a pretty cool loop. I like the 'walking bass'. It gives it that groovy jazz vibe.

I dunno, but it just brings me back to Silent Hill. While a strange description, I feel this game could be an awesome theme for some kind of celtic survival horror movie.

I really liked it. Great work.

Thanks for your response! I'll actually be submitting this as part of a cumulative effort to put together an animated series adaptation of a popular webcomic.

Very atmospheric and intense. I'm not a big fan of rating pieces in this genre b/c I have very little familiarity with it.

Some nice effects that I really liked: the subtle jazz-chord arpeggios like at 1:46, the complexity/variations of some of the percussion, and the fluid diversity of the instruments. This reminds me of Neil Voss.

The vocal: "You have made it to the end of your journey."

As for constructive criticism - the piece did last 7 minutes, but I was hoping for a change in chord progression at the very least somewhere at the half-way point. While the riff was able to last the entire piece, it would've been nice to hear some underlying bass pop in or something to change the chords.

Lycrios responds:

THANKS! I'll make another song SOON and take all this advice in and will DEFINITELY have chord changes for ya. :)

Excellent job. It has a very distinct atmospheric that works well in RPG's. I could see this being a theme for a town or cathedral-esque region.

The only thing that didn't seem catch my fancy was the rather abrupt endings/transitions into the next progression.

SourPuddle responds:

The idea was to make it seem like, you worked up for everything, and in the end, you falter. That's how you end up in the slums, right? Haha. . .

I'd give you a 10 out of 10 based on the title alone. Haha. This very much reminds me of Album Leaf with their droney, mellow tones. It had some good progressions and a nice flow.

I kinda wish that repeating melodic run of the two chords was an actual guitar. That tremolo sounding wah synth just doesn't seem to be doing it justice. Overall, though, it was a nice piece - but perhaps with some different instrumentation would really come to life better.

I'm really not a fan of these kinds of synths, but I will congratulate what you have. I found the build from 0:02 to 0:35 or so to be quite fun. I give you props for making flutes sound fluid with the happycore techno.

I guess it works as a nice filler piece considering it's 1:15 length, but I could easily see this working as a decent loop if you carried that shift at 0:48 into a new chord progression. You quickly dissolved it back to a variation of the original theme, though.
