LMFAO!

I WILL FEEL FREE TO USE THIS FOR SURE! LMFAO!

9,5 out of 10

Chuggy. The rhythm section isn't all that technical, but it's a nice, short piece with some pretty interesting little pinch harmonics.

Overall, a great riff and I like the verse - has a nice little vibe with the synth.

well to be frank i wasnt too sure waht i wanted mto make a song from because i had recently purchased Killing Floor from steam but then again i had Painkiller in the end as you can clearly hear i decided to go with Painkiller

I'm not a fan of this genre, but I like harder industrial. Sounds like Wumpscut, man. Great job. Has a sort of early NIN feel to it even.

Flawless

Excellent job. Nothing wrong at all. Great notation, great EQ'ing, awesome flow & atmosphere.

I love the sort of 'chugging' feel of the spiccato cellos/bass. Great job man. Keep up the good work.

Thanks!
For my compositions, I usually never spend more than 2 days a piece. However I gave this baby som extra attention, seeing how it had potential from the very start.

Glad you liked the flow and EQ. I've had trouble with them before :P

Good

The reason why 99% of all remixes of these tracks work so well is because Koji was a genius when it came to chords and melodies.

inspiration has to start somewhere :P

Dissonance Anyone?

Hmm, the percussion is great. The only thing that strikes me as awkward is all the dissonance going on at once.

For some reason, though, as the piece goes on I can't help but find it actually kinda catchy. It works! I was very much reminded by Super Mario 64 and an epic ending boss of some sort. So, it works well as a loop.

My favorite part is the subtle build in the loop from 0:01 to 0:22, then all of a sudden the three crash cymbals pop in and the heat turns up.

One minor thing: The strings of a certain repeating section seem to be unnecessarily loud (0:57 to 1:08) when it comes in.

Hmm, workable, but not really great...

Well, you wanted constructive criticism, so I'll try my hand at it:

The intro sounded strange b/c I think you were using open hats. Maybe stick with closed hats when doing a 16th note roll for an intro?

The underlying bass had a typical chord progression, and it was fine... until 0:26 came along. The lead is in a different key. The first notes were right, but that second harmonic is not in key; it's also out of beat at one section (I think).

So, in the end.... try working up some better harmonies/chords. The layering is fine since it's at a decent pace, but the lead is what kinda messes it up. If you're going for a quick 1-minute theme, then I'd suggest that be the only thing I'd realy suggest remastering.

I think the notation here is pretty good, but the volume of certain instruments seems way off - since the percussion feels kinda hidden and the strings seem really 'airy' and loud at certain points. Perhaps it's just the sound samples you're using.

I thought it started off quite well, though. The MIDI hi-hats just made me feel kinda sad, though.

Better samples + EQ'ing and this could be a 10/10.

ElementHeroX responds:

I'll try working on a second version of this and fix those things out the best I can.

Hehe

I lol'ed at first b/c it had this extreme 80's vibe. I rated it nicely, though, because it sounds like early work from Trent Reznor.

-1 because this is the kind of piece that needs a bridge or a new chord progression to change up the piece some. Good work, but in terms of flow - it doesn't 'feel' complete.

MikeBlade responds:

Hey Thanks alot for the review. I stuggled with the bridge like you stated above.....I didn't know where to go with it to be honest but thanks for the review!
